PTSA Open Roles for the 2018-2019 School Year

Thinking of getting involved at Madison? The PTSA has some interesting opportunities, a little something for everyone.  We have a great PTSA Board again this year and we need your help to plan some of the activities and get the word out.  If you are interested in any of these jobs, or would like to talk them over, please contact Fiona at president@madisonptsa.com.

Raise the Paddle Event Chair – Coordinates and manages the main fundraising event, currently in February.  Works with the Fundraising VP and parent volunteers, on decorations, food, venue, and entertainment.  October- February time commitment.

Bulldog Bulletin Editor – Coordinates the weekly PTSA Bulldog Bulletin, by receiving and researching news that would be helpful to parents.  Works in Constant Contact and sends the bulletin out on a determined schedule.  Works with the Communications Chair.

Social Media Coordinator – As a PTSA representative, posts regularly on Facebook and Instagram (others TBD) with interesting news and important dates from the PTSA, Madison, and other communities that will inform the Madison PTSA audience.  Works with the Communications Chair.

Membership CoordinatorInputs PTSA memberships into the state database (online) and helps establish an email list.  Helps members with questions, issues.  September and October time commitment.

Community Service Liaison – (new) Research and receive information about community service opportunities for Madison students.  Work with the school counselors.  Coordinate opportunities specifically for Madison students.  Provide information to the Communications Chair and Madison Office to report out.

Legislative Liaison Researcher – help research legislative topics and prepare reports and actions for the Legislative Liaison. Topics range from state funding, district levies, gun safety, equity and diversity, district policy, growth management, etc.  Research in your area of expertise or passion of advocacy.

Committees:

Fundraising Event Committee – help with decorating, food, procurement, and/or entertainment.   Committee chaired by the Raise The Paddle Event Chair.

Nominating Committee – once elected to the committee by the PTSA membership, this committee reviews and makes inquiries about possible candidates to the PTSA board.  Must be a PTSA member.   January – May, low key commitment

Audit Committee – over the summer assist the incoming treasurer to audit the PTSA financials.  Must be a PTSA member. One meeting commitment.

Staff Appreciation – help Volunteer Coordinator with tasks or bringing food for the Staff Appreciation Week and/or Luncheon. May time commitment.
